where was your music first played, and how did your career evolve from there?

My music was first played in LA at the Oz City Song Circle where I had the opportunity to represent Australian music. I had just finished my first EP in 2005 and thought - "why not? let's do my first gig in LA" and it was amazing! I got told I should audition for American Idol! And that I should create a story back home... this was the catalyst for me starting my own original band in Melbourne. I didn't actually start to have the courage to play piano in public oil I was 25years old! I was always a closest pianist!

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

For people to recognise me for my own unique style. When I can truly be my own creation.

what words of wisdom do you have for upcoming music artists?

Life is too short to worry about what people think. There are many different avenues and platform to release music these days. It's important to find what's right for you as an artist - not for fame, but for what is right for your music and the message you want to give out to your fans. Be true to yourself. Use your intuition. And work hard and practice hard and be the best at your craft that you can be. Try not to get too distracted by social media.
